"The 'Mercury' ISO image ships with the following packages for both the live environment and the offline install option: Calamares 25.02.1.4, Firefox 135.0, Linux kernel 6.13.1, Mesa 24.3.4, X.Org Server 21.1.15-1, NVIDIA 570.86.16. New features and improvements: the ISO image now has a memory test for EFI too; the issue with BIOS/Legacy installs is resolved; KDE Plasma, GNOME, Xfce, MATE, Budgie and Cinnamon use a dark theme by default; Xfce theme is now closer to the default setup; GNOME sets dark and light wallpapers on changing mode automatically; replacing empty space with the 'replace partition' option is working again; the installer showing double entries for the EFI selection dropdown is resolved; EndeavourOS branding is easier to find and use for artists and media usage; both mirror lists ranked now before installation will be copied to the target."

GParted Live is a live distribution with a single purpose - to provide tools for partitioning hard disks in an intuitive, graphical environment. The project's latest release is GParted Live 1.7.0-1 which provides recognition for network block devices and Bcachefs. "Key changes include: Recognise NBDs (Network Block Devices). Add support for Bcachefs (experimental), single device file systems only. Prevent GParted probe starting LVM Volume Groups. Increase minimum required version of libparted to 3.2. Bug fixes: Recognise NBDs (Network Block Devices). Update CI jobs for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and use Rocky Linux 8. Read exFAT file system usage from exfatprogs >= 1.2.3. BSD Router Project 1.994

BSD Router Project (BSDRP) is an embedded free and open-source router distribution based on FreeBSD. The project's latest release is version 1.994 and uses the FreeBSD 15 development branch. "Starting with this version, BSDRP requires at least a 4GB disk. If you installed BSDRP on a 2GB disk, upgrading will not be possible. However, if it was installed on a 4GB or larger disk, you can resize the system partition using the following command: 'system resize-system-slice 3921924'. New features: This is an intermediate release preparing the branch 2 that will use the poudriere-image framework in place of NanoBSD. Based on FreeBSD 15-head 8f6b66a9d3f and ports tree. New packages: dns/dnsmasq (will replace isc-dhcp44 and dhcprelya); Python 3.11 (this one added more than 100M of libs). Removed packages: freevrrpd (carp is now supporting VRRP mode); ucarp (no more conflict once carp enabled in VRRP mode); net/aquantia-atlantic-kmod (does not build on latest head). Deprecated packages (will be removed in next release): isc-dhcp44 (use dnsmasq, kea requires 300MB disk space with its dependencies); dhcprelya (use dnsmasq)."

The deepin project has introduced a new development snapshot, called "25 Preview", which offers immutable mount points and atomic updates: "Core system files of solid are mounted with read-only permissions. Software and drivers can be installed as system extensions. Supports disabling, updating, and managing system extensions. Atomic updates improve system update speed using incremental data. Automatic rollback to the last backup if updates fail or the system is unbootable. Supports worry-free restoration configuration, enabling instant system recovery after a reboot. Backup and restore snapshots provide ultra-fast backup speeds in seconds with minimal disk space usage (compatible with backup and restore tools). Deepin desktop environment has undergone comprehensive optimization, including QML restructuring of the Control Center and Notification Center. From visual design to interaction, core functions have been upgraded, delivering a more intuitive and user-friendly graphical interface. The desktop environment has also been redesigned to include thoughtful new features, significantly improving user experience. These optimizations lay a solid foundation for future desktop environment development, ensuring ongoing improvement and adaptation to user needs."
