DragonFly BSD 6.4.1

The DragonFly BSD project has published its first update in over two years. The update to the 6.4.x branch introduces several fixes in the kernel, userland and package manager. "6.4.1 fixes a number of small, long-standing issues, including: Fixed the issue that a pkg(8) update might delete the df-latetest.conf config file, which rendered pkg(8) unusable. Updated the shipped ca_root_nss package so that the newer Let's Encrypt certificates are trusted and thus pkg(8) works with the Avalon HTTPS repo. Fixed a memory leak in the legacy IDE/NATA driver that could easily lead to kernel panics. Expose SMBIOS entry point via kenv so dmidecode(8) works on UEFI-only systems."

This version is based on HardenedBSD 12.1 and it ads several interesting enhancements to its web-based user interface: "For five and a half years, OPNsense has been driving innovation through modularising and hardening the open source firewall, with simple and reliable firmware upgrades, multi-language support, HardenedBSD security, fast adoption of upstream software updates as well as clear and stable 2-Clause BSD licensing. 20.7, nicknamed 'Legendary Lion', is a major operating system jump forward on a sustainable firewall experience. This release adds DHCPv6 multi-WAN, custom error pages for the web proxy, Suricata 5, HardenedBSD 12.1, netstat tree view, basic firewall API support (via plugin) and extended live log filtering, amongst other new features. NomadBSD 1.3.2
NomadBSD is a 64-bit live system for USB flash drives, based on FreeBSD. The project's latest release updates the operating system to be up to date with FreeBSD 12.1 and fixes the filesystem layout to allow tools like bectl to snapshot the boot environment. " We are pleased to present the release of NomadBSD 1.3.2. Changes since 1.3.1: the base system has been upgraded to FreeBSD 12.1-p6; rtsx-kmod, which is a driver for Realtek card readers, has been added; the ZFS layout used for installing NomadBSD on a hard disk has been changed to allow beactl to back up the boot environment; load_iichid has been added - it is a rc-script which offers the user, via a dialog(1) menu, to load the experimental iichid driver from sysutils/iichid if it finds a I2C HID; graphics/intel-backlight has been added; a curses menu has been added - it allows user to acknowledge licenses of certain wireless drivers in order to use them; a unionfs_maxfiles rc.conf variable has been added - it controls how many files can be opened on the Unionfs file system; graphics/mirage has been replaced by graphics/viewnior; a patch from 12-STABLE has been added to the acpi_video module - i sends devd events whenever the brightness is changed...."

The NetBSD team have announced a new release of the project's highly portable operating system. The new version, NetBSD 8.2, provides minor updates and fixes to the project's 8.x series. "The third release in the NetBSD-8 is now available. This release includes all the security fixes in NetBSD-8 up until this point, and other fixes deemed important for stability.
